Element Placement: Can I put the element in the water or under the bowl?
Yes. On any model built starting in 2026, the element can be placed either in the water or under the bowl.
Is the heating element built out of carbon steel or stainless steel?
On all units built starting in 2026, the heating elements are stainless steel.
What is the circular door on the side of the waterer?
That is an exhaust/heat port used to funnel heat into the cavity of the unit. This is effective for thawing both the water line and the bowl. For faster results when thawing the bowl, we recommend tarping the unit.
What is the purpose of the 2-piece access door?
The top door can be removed for easy thermostat access, which is especially helpful if there is ice or snow build-up around the bottom of the bowl.
